** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Miknaičių (Lithuanian: Miknaičių ežeras) experiences typical temperate-seasonal variations in water temperature. In spring, as ice melts and waters cool, temperatures are commonly in the range of about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). Early summer sees warming to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), while the warmest period in July and August often brings surface temperatures around 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in shallower areas. By autumn the lake cools again to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures drop, and in winter the surface may approach freezing or be covered by ice, with near-zero water conditions roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) beneath the ice.
Swimming in Lake Miknaičių is generally possible during the open-water season because it is a natural freshwater body with public shore access; local residents and visitors commonly swim there in summer when temperatures are most comfortable. That said, swimming should follow local guidance and common-sense safety: check for posted water-quality warnings or algal blooms, be cautious where there are no lifeguards, and be aware of underwater vegetation and changing depths. In winter, swimming is not appropriate except for supervised ice-swimming traditions, and any such activity should only occur with proper equipment and precautions.
