*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Talkša, an urban lake in Šiauliai, experiences typical Lithuanian seasonal fluctuations in surface water temperature. In spring (April–May) temperatures commonly range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the water warms after ice melt. By early summer (June) the surface often reaches 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), while peak summer months (July–August) frequently see 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm years, making the lake most comfortable for swimming. In autumn (September–October) the water cools again to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). During winter the lake is typically at or close to freezing with ice cover; under-ice temperatures are near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), conditions unsuitable for casual bathing.
Swimming at Lake Talkša is allowed at designated beaches and recreational areas during the bathing season, and local authorities commonly monitor water quality and mark safe bathing zones. Lifeguards may be present on busy days, but outside the official bathing season swimming is generally discouraged because of low temperatures, deteriorating water quality checks, and ice hazards in winter. Some locals participate in organized winter swimming or cold-water plunges, but those activities are separate from regular, municipally supervised swimming and carry additional risks.
