*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Rychy (Riču ezers) experiences the typical Baltic-climate seasonal shifts in water temperature. In spring (April–May) the surface water is still cold, often ranging from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as the lake thaws. Summer (June–August) is the warmest period, with surface temperatures commonly between 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) and occasionally reaching the mid-20s °C (mid-70s °F) during heatwaves. Early autumn (September–October) brings cooling to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as the lake loses summer warmth. In winter the lake is at or just above freezing beneath any ice, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) until ice break-up.
Swimming in Lake Rychy is generally possible and commonly done in the warmer months where shore access exists, because it is a freshwater lake with public shoreline. Local rules, water quality monitoring and the presence of designated bathing spots or lifeguards vary, so swimmers should follow posted guidance and check current conditions. Cold-water risks are important in shoulder seasons, and ice swimming should only be undertaken at organized, supervised locations with appropriate safety measures.
