*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Greeson, located in southwest Arkansas near Murfreesboro, is a deep and scenic reservoir along the Little Missouri River. Its water temperature varies with the seasons, influenced by both regional weather and its relatively deep structure. During winter, the surface temperature typically ranges from 7–11 °C (45–52 °F), keeping the water too cold for swimming. In spring, as air temperatures rise, the lake gradually warms to 15–20 °C (59–68 °F). By midsummer, the surface reaches its peak warmth, averaging 25–29 °C (77–84 °F), while deeper waters remain noticeably cooler. In autumn, cooling weather brings the temperature back down to 15–18 °C (59–64 °F), and the lake begins to mix before winter sets in.
Swimming in Lake Greeson is both allowed and encouraged during the summer months, typically from late May through early September, when water temperatures are comfortable. Designated swimming areas, such as those within Daisy State Park and nearby recreation sites, provide safe access with sandy or gravel beaches. The lake’s clear water and natural surroundings make it ideal for families and casual swimmers. Outside the warm season, swimming becomes uncomfortable due to the cooler water, but Lake Greeson remains popular year-round for boating, fishing, and enjoying the surrounding Ouachita Mountains landscape.
