Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Blue Mountain Lake, a reservoir in the Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas, experiences water temperatures typical of the state's interior, with warm summers and mild winters. In the cool winter months, the surface water temperature ranges from the 40s to low 50s F (4∘C to 13∘C). During the long, peak summer season, the lake warms significantly, with surface temperatures often reaching a very comfortable and warm range for swimming, generally peaking between 75∘F and 85∘F (24∘C to 29∘C).
Swimming is widely permitted and encouraged in Blue Mountain Lake, as it is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and recreation. The lake features several day-use areas and campgrounds which provide excellent public access. The Waveland Park area often includes designated swimming beaches, confirming the activity is supported. However, these designated beaches are typically unsupervised by lifeguards, meaning all swimming is strictly at one's own risk. Swimmers should be aware of boat traffic, especially in the main channel, and the sudden depth changes that characterize reservoir lakes.
