*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Acworth is a relatively shallow reservoir in northwest Georgia, so its surface temperature changes noticeably with the seasons. In winter the water commonly settles in the lower 40s to mid 50s °F (about 4–13 °C). Spring sees a steady rise, with temperatures often in the 50s to low 70s °F (10–22 °C) as air temperatures warm. During summer the surface typically ranges from the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (24–29 °C), and during heat waves can climb into the upper 80s °F (around 30 °C). Fall brings a gradual cooling, usually leaving surface readings in the mid-50s to mid-70s °F (13–24 °C) depending on the month and recent weather. Because the lake is shallow, it responds fairly quickly to warm spells and cold snaps.
Swimming is permitted but generally confined to designated areas and seasonal beach facilities managed by the city; Acworth’s public beach is staffed and open during posted summer hours. Swimming outside marked zones is not recommended because the lake is a working reservoir with boat traffic, submerged structures and variable depths that can create hazards. Water quality and public-safety conditions can change, so swimmers should follow local signage, lifeguard guidance and any advisories before entering the water.
