*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lagoa Serrano, in the Guarda District, is a small inland lake whose water temperatures reflect its higher-elevation continental climate. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from roughly 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter to about 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) in summer, with spring values often between 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) and autumn cooling to around 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These figures are approximate and depend on recent weather, wind, depth and shading; even in summer the deeper or shaded parts remain noticeably colder than lowland or coastal bathing waters.
Swimming at Lagoa Serrano is possible during the warmer months, but it is not a formally managed bathing beach in most years, so local rules, signage or temporary closures for water quality or conservation can apply. Many visitors swim in summer when surface temperatures are at their highest, though cold water, lack of lifeguard services and submerged hazards make caution advisable. Wearing a wetsuit, avoiding solo swims and checking for any posted restrictions or recent water-quality notices are prudent steps before entering the lake.
