❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 50°F (10°C) to 54°F (12°C). The water is slightly warmer, but still cool for most people. Swimming in such conditions is possible, but for most people, the time spent in the water should be limited to avoid hypothermia. Even experienced swimmers may feel discomfort if they stay in the water for too long. To improve comfort and safety, a wetsuit can be used. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. ** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Karersee (Lago di Carezza), a small alpine lake in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol at about 1,500 meters elevation, is fed by cold springs and mountain runoff, which keeps its water clear and relatively cold year-round. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter when ice and near-freezing conditions are common, through spring values of roughly 3–8 °C (37–46 °F). In summer the warmest surface readings may reach about 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) on the sunniest days, while autumn brings a gradual cooling to roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F). Actual temperatures vary with depth, weather, and season, and even in midsummer the lake stays much colder than lowland bathing waters.
Swimming in Karersee is generally not permitted and is widely discouraged. The ban and local guidance aim to protect a fragile high-altitude ecosystem, preserve the lake’s exceptional clarity and color, and avoid disturbance to flora and fauna; safety concerns related to very cold water and the absence of lifeguard services are additional reasons. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the shoreline, footpaths, and views while respecting signage and conservation rules rather than entering the water.
