Lake Pontesei (Lago di Pontesei) is a man-made reservoir in the Veneto region whose water temperatures reflect its mountain-fed character and variable depth. Seasonal surface temperatures typically run from near freezing in winter — around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) — to cool spring values of roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In the warmest summer months the surface can warm to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) on sunny days, while autumn sees a steady decline to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) as air temperatures fall. Deeper layers remain markedly colder year-round, so overall the lake tends to be cooler than lowland lakes even in summer.
