*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Benagéber, located in the interior of the province of Valencia, shows clear seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter the reservoir’s surface water commonly sits around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), and spring brings a steady rise to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as weather warms. During summer the most-used swimming coves and shallow margins can warm to about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), with isolated shallow spots occasionally reaching near 28 °C (82 °F) on very hot spells. Temperatures vary strongly with depth, wind, inflows and sunlight, so shallow sheltered bays are noticeably warmer than deeper, shaded areas.
Swimming is a common recreational activity around Benagéber in warm months, but whether it is officially allowed depends on local rules and conditions. Some parts are regularly used for bathing because access and calm water make it practical, while other zones—especially close to infrastructure, intakes or the dam—may be restricted for safety and to protect water quality or supply functions. Seasonal restrictions can also be applied for algal blooms, sudden level changes or boat traffic. Visitors should check on-site signage or municipal guidance before swimming and be aware of cold, deep water and submerged hazards even on warm days.
