Valjevo, located in western Serbia, lies on the banks of the Kolubara River, which flows through the city before joining the Sava. The river’s temperature follows the pattern of the continental climate typical of the region. During winter, the water is very cold, usually between 1–4 °C (34–39 °F), and can partially freeze in shallow areas. In spring, temperatures gradually rise to around 10–14 °C (50–57 °F).
