*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Asenovgrad (in Bulgarian - Асеновград) lies at the northern foothills of the Rhodope Mountains and is drained by small rivers and streams with a few local reservoirs and ponds rather than coastal waters. Temperatures in those rivers and mountain streams are typically low: winter averages often range near 0–6 °C (32–43 °F) and spring can see 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In summer the larger, slower reservoirs and shallow ponds warm more noticeably and commonly reach 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), with the warmest shallow areas occasionally approaching 25–26 °C (77–79 °F). Autumn temperatures usually fall back into the 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) band as air temperatures decline.
Swimming opportunities exist but are limited and conditional. Official, supervised bathing areas are uncommon in the immediate Asenovgrad area, so people who swim in local reservoirs or in quiet bends of rivers do so at their own risk; many stretches are not designated for swimming because of currents, variable depths, underwater hazards and occasional water-quality concerns from runoff. Even in summer, mountain-fed streams can remain brisk and pose risk of cold shock. Where reservoirs or municipal ponds are clearly marked and monitored, swimming is generally permitted; otherwise adherence to local signage and municipal rules is advisable for safety.
