*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Devin (Девин) is a small Rhodope mountain town in southern Bulgaria known for its mineral springs and nearby mountain lakes. Water temperatures in the local lake(s) are strongly influenced by altitude and spring-fed sources, so they remain cool for much of the year. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range roughly from 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter, 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in spring and early summer, about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in the warmest weeks of July and August, and fall values usually fall back to 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These are approximate ranges and actual conditions can vary with weather and specific water bodies.
Swimming is possible in many spots during the warmest months when surface temperatures approach the high teens or low twenties Celsius, and locals and visitors commonly bathe in summer for recreation. However, some lakes and reservoirs may have restrictions for safety or water-management reasons, and the water can still feel chilly compared with lowland seaside bathing. As a result, swimmers should check local signage and conditions, be aware of sudden depth changes and cold-shock risk, and avoid unsanctioned areas even when air temperatures are warm.
