** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Oca in Castile and León typically shows the thermal behavior of a small inland Spanish river: cold in winter and comfortably warm in summer. Seasonal surface temperatures commonly range from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, rise to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) during spring, reach around 16–24 °C (61–75 °F) in summer depending on shading and flow, and fall back to approximately 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) in autumn. Shallow, slow-flowing pools heat more quickly and can be several degrees warmer on hot days, while shaded or faster sections remain cooler year-round.
Swimming in the Río Oca is possible in many locations during the warmer months when temperatures are highest, but it is not universally recommended everywhere. Whether swimming is allowed depends on local rules, private land access, water quality and safety conditions; some stretches may be unsuitable because of currents, submerged hazards or ecological protections. Cold-water risks are greater outside summer, so spring and autumn dips can be uncomfortable or hazardous. Visitors should check local signage, water quality reports and landowner permissions, and take basic precautions such as avoiding strong currents and entering the water gradually to adapt to temperature differences.
