*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Pas, a river in Cantabria, Spain, has water temperatures that vary notably with the seasons and with location along its course. In winter the river is cold, commonly around 5–9 °C (41–48 °F), while spring temperatures typically rise to about 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as snowmelt and rainfall moderate flows. In summer the shallow, slower stretches can warm to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), making them the most comfortable for bathing, and autumn usually brings temperatures in the 12–16 °C range (54–61 °F) as air and water cool. These figures are approximate: actual temperatures depend on depth, flow rate, shading, recent rain, and altitude, so conditions can change quickly after storms or during heat spells.
Swimming in the Río Pas is possible in many accessible sections, and there are local “river beach” spots where people commonly bathe in summer, but the entire river is not uniformly designated as a supervised bathing area. Safety and water quality are the main considerations: strong currents, hidden underwater hazards, variable depth, and occasional agricultural or urban runoff can make some stretches inadvisable. Local signage and municipal water-quality reports should be consulted, and swimming is safest where access points, clear water, and lifeguard presence are provided during the warmer months.
