*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Torneträsk in Norrbotten County is a large, cold mountain lake whose surface temperatures vary markedly through the year. In summer the surface typically warms to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in most places, and in unusually warm spells it can approach about 18 °C (64 °F) in shallow bays. During spring and autumn the water is much cooler, commonly in the range of 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) as the lake stratifies and mixes. In winter the lake is usually ice-covered for several months and surface temperatures beneath the ice are close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), with slightly warmer, near 4 °C, conditions in deeper layers.
Swimming in Torneträsk is generally possible and there are accessible shoreline spots frequented by visitors, but it is strongly seasonal and requires caution. The long, cold springs and autumns and the brief, cool summers mean open-water swimming is comfortable only for those accustomed to cold water or using protection such as a wetsuit. There are no widespread prohibitions on swimming and public access to the shoreline is common, yet hypothermia risk, sudden weather changes, and strong local currents near inlets make solo or unprepared swimming unsafe. Visitors should plan carefully, check local conditions, and use appropriate safety measures.
