*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Svyate Lake in Chernihiv region is more of a hydrological natural monument than a straightforward recreational lake. Over time it has been gradually overgrown by sphagnum mosses and marsh vegetation, so much of its surface is dominated by wetland and swampy zones, leaving only a central open water area. Its character as a transitioning bog means that in many parts the water is shallow, tangled with reeds and peat, rather than a neat swimming basin.
Because the lake is set in a largely swampy environment and has limited open water, typical summer water temperatures in the area (for lakes and river-fed basins in Chernihiv) may reach around 20–24 °C in favorable seasons. In such conditions, swimming in the more open central parts might feel tolerable. However, the overgrowth, poor depth control, and sometimes receding water levels (there have been reports of the lake drying partially in dry years) make it unreliable and potentially unsafe for general bathing.
If you visit, it’s best to check local current conditions: whether there is enough depth, water clarity, and accessible shoreline before deciding to swim. In many cases, you might find that only small stretches are usable or that walking into water is impeded by vegetation.
