In winter the surface often falls near freezing, roughly 32–40°F (0–4°C). Spring temperatures rise through the 40s and 50s°F (4–15°C) as the lake mixes and runoff adds cooler water. By summer the warmer surface layer commonly reaches the mid-60s to high-70s°F (18–26°C), although shallow bays can climb into the low 80s°F (27–28°C) on hot, calm days.
