*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Rusken (in Swedish, Rusken) in Jönköping County typically follows the temperate seasonal pattern of southern Swedish lakes. In spring (March–May) surface temperatures usually range from about 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) as the water warms after ice melt. During the summer months (June–August) temperatures commonly reach 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), with the warmest readings in shallow bays and during heat spells. In autumn (September–November) the surface cools again to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). Winter months (December–February) often see temperatures at or below 0 °C (32 °F), and the lake can develop ice cover depending on weather conditions.
Swimming in Rusken is generally allowed and is a popular activity in summer where there are designated bathing spots and shore access. Local authorities monitor bathing water quality during the bathing season, and public access rights make many shoreline areas reachable. However, seasonal variation in temperature, underwater vegetation, depth changes and occasional cold springs mean swimmers should exercise caution; cold water can cause shock and reduce swimming ability, and ice in winter makes swimming hazardous except for controlled, experienced winter-bathing with safety measures. Overall, summer offers the most comfortable and commonly used opportunity for swimming in Rusken.
