*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Madkroken (Swedish: Madkroken) in Kronoberg County typically follows the seasonal temperature patterns of small southern Swedish lakes. During winter the surface often drops to around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and in early spring temperatures commonly range from 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the ice thaws. In summer the water is usually warmest, often between 17–24 °C (63–75 °F) on average, with the warmest, shallow bays reaching higher on hot years. Autumn sees a gradual cooling, commonly into the 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) range before the lake returns to near-freezing conditions.
Swimming is generally allowed at Madkroken: Sweden’s right of public access (allemansrätten) permits bathing in most natural waters, and many locals and visitors swim in summer when temperatures are comfortable. However, practical restrictions can apply—private shoreline ownership, local rules, water-quality advisories or blue‑green algae blooms may limit safe bathing at times. Because of cold shocks outside the warmest months, swimmers should take caution early and late in the season and consider wetsuits, life vests or swimming with companions. Checking local signage or municipal guidance before swimming is sensible to ensure safety and to respect private property.
