*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sevier Bridge Reservoir in central Utah experiences substantial seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In winter the lake often sits near freezing, roughly 32–40°F (0–4°C). Spring warming brings surface temperatures into the 40–60°F (4–16°C) range as runoff and air temperatures rise. Peak summer conditions commonly produce the warmest surface waters, typically about 65–75°F (18–24°C), with occasional heat-driven spikes toward the upper 70s–low 80s°F (25–28°C) during hot spells. As the air cools in autumn the reservoir usually falls back into the 50–65°F (10–18°C) range before icing begins in cold years. Deeper water remains colder year-round, so overall thermal stratification can be pronounced in summer and persistent chill is found below the surface.
Swimming at Sevier Bridge Reservoir is generally possible but conditional. There are no widespread state-imposed bans specific to most Utah reservoirs, yet access, allowed uses, and available amenities depend on local management and shoreline ownership; posted signs should be observed. The cold temperatures outside midsummer, lack of lifeguards, potential for sudden cold-water shock, submerged hazards, and boat traffic make swimming a cautious choice. Many visitors swim in warm months when surface temperatures are most comfortable, but prudence, flotation devices, and checking local rules and conditions are recommended before entering the water.
