*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bolmen (Swedish: Bolmen) is a large, shallow-to-moderately deep lake in Kronoberg County that shows clear seasonal swings in surface water temperature. In spring the surface typically warms from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as ice melts and air temperatures rise. By early summer, June conditions often register around 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), with peak summer temperatures in July and August commonly between 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) on warm years. In autumn the water cools again to roughly 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) during September and October, and in winter the lake normally approaches freezing with surface temperatures near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) under ice cover in the coldest months.
Swimming in Bolmen is generally possible and commonly practiced because Swedish access rules allow public use of most shorelines, and many bays and beaches are suitable for bathing. That said, conditions vary: water can be uncomfortably cold outside the warmest weeks, and some shoreline areas may be private, document local signs, or be located near water-management facilities where access is restricted. Ice swimming is done by some locals but requires proper precautions. As with any natural lake, swimmers should assess weather, currents, underwater slopes and water quality before entering, and use floatation or company if venturing farther from shore.
