*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Helgasjön (called Helgasjön in Swedish) is a medium-sized lake in Kronoberg County whose surface temperatures follow the typical seasonal pattern of southern Swedish lakes. In winter the water usually sits close to freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) under ice or just below the surface. During spring the lake warms as ice melts and inflows cool the basin, commonly ranging from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In summer surface temperatures most often reach approximately 16–24 °C (61–75 °F) in warm spells, with shallower bays warming more quickly. In autumn the water cools again to around 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures drop and mixing increases. Local weather, wind and depth cause considerable variation, so measured temperatures can differ from these averages year to year.
Swimming in Helgasjön is generally allowed and common where there are public access points and bathing areas, since the lake is used for recreation by residents and visitors. Local municipalities monitor bathing water quality during the swimming season and post guidance if algal blooms or pollution occur; that surveillance helps determine when bathing is advisable. Outside the summer months the water is cold and can be hazardous without proper precautions, and ice or shoreline conditions can restrict access in winter, though some people practice regulated winter swimming with safety measures in place.
