*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Parvin Lake, located in Parvin State Park in southern New Jersey, experiences wide seasonal swings in surface water temperature that reflect local air temperatures and sunlight. In spring the lake typically warms from roughly 45–65°F (7–18°C) as ice melts and days lengthen. Summer surface temperatures commonly range from about 70–82°F (21–28°C), with the warmest readings on sunny, calm afternoons in July and August; shallower bays can warm more, while deeper or shaded areas remain a few degrees cooler. Autumn cooling brings values back to approximately 50–68°F (10–20°C) before winter drops the lake toward near freezing, often around 32–40°F (0–4°C), and ice can form in sustained cold spells.
Swimming at Parvin Lake is allowed in designated beach or swimming areas when the park posts them open, generally in the warmer late spring through early fall months. These seasonal openings exist for public safety and are tied to water temperature, staffing (lifeguards), and water quality; the park may restrict or close swimming if temperatures are unseasonably low, hazardous conditions arise, or water-quality advisories (for algae or bacteria) are in effect. Visitors should follow on-site signage and park guidance before entering the water.
