*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Lentiira is a lake in the Kainuu region of Finland, located in the municipality of Kuhmo. Given its northern location and typical Finnish-lake characteristics, the lake’s water temperature follows a seasonal progression: in spring, once ice cover has receded, surface temperatures might be around 4-7 °C; in early summer the water warms to roughly 14-17 °C; by July the typical temperature is about 18-21 °C, with shallow bays potentially reaching 22-23 °C on particularly warm days. As autumn approaches, the water cools again, dropping below 10 °C, and by late autumn the lake begins freezing.
Swimming in Lake Lentiira is allowed and enjoyed during the summer months. The clean water, natural surroundings and quiet setting make it appealing for those seeking a refreshing dip rather than a warm bath. Since the lake warms more slowly than southern lakes, swimmers should expect cooler conditions, especially early and late in the season. The more moderate summer temperatures still provide pleasant open-water swimming, and the calm, scenic environment adds to the appeal for nature-based recreation.
