*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Räbi is a small forest lake in Estonia whose surface water temperatures follow the typical seasonal pattern of shallow northern lakes. In spring as the ice thaws and the sun gains strength, surface temperatures commonly range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). During summer the upper layer usually warms to roughly 17–22 °C (63–72 °F), with occasional warm spells pushing it toward 24 °C (75 °F) in very hot summers. In autumn the water cools back to around 5–12 °C (41–54 °F) before freezing; under winter ice the water near the bottom will be near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F). These figures can vary with exact weather, wind, and depth—shallower bays warm faster while deeper areas remain noticeably cooler due to stratification.
Swimming in Räbi järv is commonly practiced in summer and is generally allowed unless specific local signs or private property rules prohibit access. People swim because surface temperatures in summertime are comfortable for bathing, but swimmers should be mindful of sudden temperature changes with depth, absence of lifeguards, and variable water quality (for example algal blooms after warm, calm periods). Ice swimming and winter bathing occur in Estonia but require proper safety measures and local knowledge; when in doubt, follow posted guidance and take precautions.
