*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Mõrtsuka järv is a small Estonian lake whose surface temperatures follow the island-continent seasonal rhythm. In summer the surface commonly warms to roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), with the warmest water in July and August. During spring the lake usually ranges from about 1–10 °C (34–50 °F) as ice melts and the water begins to stratify, while autumn brings a steady cooling to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) before freezing. In winter the open water (if any) and the water beneath the ice remain close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F). Local factors such as depth, shading, inflows and wind mixing can make spot temperatures vary from these typical values.
Swimming in Mõrtsuka järv is generally possible and commonly practised where there is public access; there is no widespread prohibition on entering natural lakes in Estonia, but access may be limited by private shoreline or posted local restrictions. Water quality, algae blooms, steep or muddy banks, and the absence of lifeguards are practical considerations to decide whether and where to swim. Seasonal variations also affect safety: cold spring and autumn water can cause cold-shock and increase hypothermia risk, while summer offers the most comfortable and safest temperatures for recreational bathing. Always check local signage and conditions before entering.
