*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kose Valgjärv is a small Estonian lake whose water temperature follows the typical seasonal pattern of northern temperate lakes. In winter the surface freezes and temperatures at and just under the ice are around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring sees a rapid warm-up from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as ice breaks up and the water mixes. Summer brings the warmest conditions, commonly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) in open water with occasional late‑season peaks toward 24–25 °C (75–77 °F) on warm, calm days. In autumn the lake cools back down to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as air temperatures fall and stratification breaks down.
Swimming in Kose Valgjärv is generally possible and commonly practiced in the warmer months because it is a public natural body of water accessible to locals and visitors. There are no universal bans, but actual suitability depends on seasonal temperature, weather and any local water‑quality advisories; summer temperatures are comfortable for casual bathing, whereas early spring and late autumn water can feel uncomfortably cold. Winter swimming is only appropriate where ice is thick and organized safety measures exist; otherwise it is unsafe due to the risk of hypothermia and thin ice. As with any natural lake, swimmers should be cautious about depth, underwater features and the absence of lifeguards.
