*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
A typical lake in Kronoberg County (Swedish: Kronobergs län) has marked seasonal variation in water temperature. After the spring thaw water is often cold, commonly around 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) in April and May as snowmelt and cool air keep temperatures down. By midsummer larger, shallow lakes frequently warm to about 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), and during warm spells surface temperatures can briefly reach 25 °C (77 °F) or more in sheltered bays. In late summer and early autumn temperatures usually fall back to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as days shorten and winds increase. In winter most lakes freeze over and surface temperatures sit at or below 0 °C (32 °F) under ice cover.
Swimming in these lakes is generally permitted and common, following Sweden’s “everyman’s right” and local regulations for public beaches. Many municipal bathing spots have designated swimming areas and sometimes lifeguards in summer, but water quality and safety vary by site; cyanobacterial blooms can occur on warm, stagnant days and signs may close beaches. Cold shock in early season or in deeper water is a real hazard, and winter ice swimming requires local knowledge of ice thickness and safe access. Always check local advisories before entering the water.
