*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Åsnen, a large lake in Kronoberg County in southern Sweden, has water temperatures that vary considerably through the year. In spring (April–May) surface temperatures typically range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the lake thaws. Summer (June–August) brings the warmest conditions, with surface temperatures commonly between 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) and occasional warm spells reaching around 24 °C (75 °F). In autumn (September–October) the surface cools to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). Winter months (December–February) are close to freezing; surface temperatures are often 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and parts of the lake may be ice-covered.
Swimming in Åsnen is generally allowed and popular at designated beaches and bathing spots during the warmer months because water quality is usually good and there are accessible shores and piers. Caution is advisable outside high summer: even when the surface feels moderate, deeper water can remain much colder, and early- or late-season swims carry risks of cold-water shock. In winter, natural ice cover normally makes ordinary swimming unsafe except for supervised or prepared ice baths used by experienced winter swimmers. Visitors should use common-sense precautions and heed any local bathing advisories.
