*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Gutulisjøen, located in Innlandet County within the Gutulia area, is a small, forest-fringed mountain lake whose water temperatures reflect the cool, continental climate. In winter the lake is typically frozen at the surface and water just under the ice remains close to 0 °C (32 °F); during spring thaw temperatures commonly rise from about 1–6 °C (34–43 °F) as snowmelt cools inflows. Peak summer temperatures are modest compared with lowland lakes, commonly ranging from roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) on warm days; in cool summers the surface may only reach the lower end of that span. By autumn the water steadily cools again, often falling into a 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) window before ice forms.
Swimming at Gutulisjøen is generally permitted and feasible, but it is characterized by natural conditions rather than formal bathing facilities. The lake lies in a largely protected, sparsely developed landscape with public access, so there are typically no official restrictions on entering the water; however, the low temperatures, absence of lifeguards, and potential for sudden weather change mean that swimming is mainly suited to short dips, wetsuits, or experienced cold-water swimmers. Visitors should take normal safety precautions—avoid swimming alone, be mindful of hypothermia risk, and check local signage or guidance when present.
