*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Cameron Lake, part of the Trent-Severn Waterway near Fenelon Falls in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, experiences the full range of temperatures typical of a warm inland lake. In the deep winter months, the lake freezes completely, with water temperatures near the freezing point, generally ranging from 0∘C to 5∘C (32∘F to 41∘F). Due to its location and relatively shallow depth, the lake warms up considerably in the peak summer season, with surface temperatures typically reaching a very comfortable range for swimming, likely peaking between 22∘C and 26∘C (72∘F to 79∘F).
Swimming is widely permitted and popular at Cameron Lake, confirming its status as a highly sought-after recreational destination. Fenelon Falls Beach, a municipal beach located on the lake, provides public access and is frequently supervised by lifeguards during the summer months, offering a safe, designated swimming area. However, swimmers must heed the warnings posted by the local health unit, as the lake is periodically monitored for water quality. Unsafe for Swimming advisories may be issued due to high E. coli bacteria counts, often following heavy rainfall, which swimmers must respect.
