*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bush Lake in Minnesota follows the typical seasonal pattern of shallow midwestern lakes. In spring the water is cold, often in the 40–60°F range (about 4–15°C) as snowmelt and cool air keep temperatures down. By early summer temperatures commonly rise into the 60–70°F band (roughly 15–21°C), and in mid to late summer the surface frequently reaches the mid-70s°F, about 21–26°C, on warm days. Come fall the lake cools again toward 50–65°F (10–18°C), and in winter the surface usually reaches freezing conditions around 32°F (0°C) and can be ice-covered for extended periods, making swimming impractical.
Swimming at Bush Lake is generally possible during the warmer months because there is beach access and the lake attains temperatures comfortable for recreational use in July and August. Whether people are allowed to swim on any given day depends on local management and public-health monitoring: beaches may be closed temporarily for safety if water-quality tests show elevated bacteria or harmful algal blooms, or if dangerous conditions such as strong winds or poor visibility are present. Lifeguard coverage, posted rules and advisory signs should be checked before entering the water.
