*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake El Cañizar (Spanish: Laguna del Cañizar) is a shallow inland lagoon in Aragon, Spain, whose water temperature reflects the region’s continental Mediterranean climate and the lake’s modest depth. In winter the water commonly falls to around 0–8 °C (32–46 °F), often feeling sharply cold because shallow basins lose heat quickly. Spring and autumn see a transitional band roughly between 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) as air temperatures moderate and the lagoon responds relatively fast. In summer, solar heating of the shallow waters can raise temperatures to about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), although localized warming or cooling can occur depending on wind, inflow and evaporation.
Swimming at Lake El Cañizar is generally discouraged and in many cases restricted, primarily for conservation and safety reasons. The lagoon is a sensitive wetland habitat with important vegetation and birdlife; human bathing disturbs wildlife, churns sediments and can worsen water quality. Additionally, shallow lagoons can present safety hazards — sudden depth changes, cold pockets outside peak summer, dense aquatic plants or algal growth — making unsupervised swimming inadvisable. Visitors should follow local signage and regulations and treat the site as a nature reserve rather than a recreational beach.
