*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Halen in Blekinge is a small inland lake whose surface temperatures follow the seasonal rhythms typical of southern Sweden. In spring the water usually ranges from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the lake thaws and slowly warms. By early summer surface temperatures commonly reach 15–20 °C (59–68 °F), and in the warmest weeks of July and August the lake can climb to roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on sunny days. In autumn the temperature falls back to the 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) band before winter brings surface temperatures near freezing, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and sometimes ice cover depending on the year’s cold spells.
Swimming at Halen is generally possible and is a normal summer recreational activity because the water warms enough to be comfortable and the Swedish right of public access means many shorelines are reachable. There are no universal bans, but local restrictions or private properties can limit access in places, and swimmers should heed any posted signs. As with many small lakes, late-summer algal blooms or brief drops in water quality can occur, so it is sensible to check local guidance before bathing. Cold-water or ice swimming is feasible for experienced individuals with proper precautions, but it carries significant risks for the unprepared.
