*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Hönshyltefjorden, a lake in Kronoberg County in southern Sweden, typically follows the seasonal temperature patterns common to Småland’s inland waters. In spring surface temperatures often range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the lake thaws. During summer the surface commonly warms to roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in sunnier years, with shallow bays sometimes reaching the higher end of that span. Autumn sees cooling to approximately 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) before the water approaches freezing in winter, when temperatures near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and parts of the lake may become ice-covered.
Swimming at Hönshyltefjorden is generally possible and practiced in warmer months because public access to shorelines is allowed under Swedish access rights and many shorelines and bays are shallow enough to be comfortable for bathing. However, conditions vary with weather, wind and water quality, and ice cover in winter normally prevents conventional swimming. Visitors should check local advisories for water quality and safety, be mindful of cold-water risks even in shoulder seasons, and use designated bathing areas where available for safer access.
