*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pantelimon, a locality in the Bucharest-Ilfov region, is associated with several nearby bodies of water such as the Colentina chain and Cernica/Pantelimon lakes. Water temperatures there follow a typical continental pattern: in spring the surface warms from about 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), in summer it commonly reaches 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) with occasional peaks into the high 20s °C (80s °F) on very warm years, in autumn it cools to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), and in winter surface temperatures often fall to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and can approach freezing under sustained cold. Local microclimates, water depth and inflow from rivers or lakes influence these values, so temperatures can vary across different basins and seasons.
Swimming in Pantelimon’s lakes is generally not formally organized and is often discouraged by authorities because of water quality concerns, limited monitoring, and the absence of lifeguards and marked bathing areas. While informal swimming does occur during the warmest weeks when surface temperatures are most comfortable, it carries risks related to pollution, underwater vegetation, boating traffic and sudden depth changes. For safe recreational bathing, people are usually advised to choose designated, monitored beaches or municipal pools where water quality and safety measures are routinely checked.
