Buzău, in southeastern Romania, has a mix of small natural lakes and engineered reservoirs whose surface water temperatures follow the region’s continental climate. In spring (March–May) lake temperatures typically rise from about 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) as snowmelt and cool rains influence inflows. Summer (June–August) is when waters are warmest, commonly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) on lowland recreational lakes, though mountain reservoirs and deeper basins can remain cooler, often in the 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) range.
