*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Buftea (Romanian: Buftea) is a town in the Bucharest–Ilfov area with a local lake that responds to seasonal weather patterns typical of the region. Surface water temperatures in spring generally rise from about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as the weather warms, peak in summer around 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) on average during warm spells, drop to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) in autumn, and approach freezing in winter at about 0–3 °C (32–37 °F) when ice can form on shallow areas. Actual readings vary with recent weather, depth, time of day and year, so these ranges are indicative rather than precise.
Swimming at Buftea’s lake is largely informal: there is no widely advertised, permanently staffed public beach with regular lifeguards, and local authorities do not always run systematic water-quality monitoring. As a result, bathing is often undertaken at people’s own risk in summer when surface temperatures are most comfortable. Authorities or posted signs may discourage or prohibit swimming at times due to pollution, submerged hazards or safety concerns, so anyone considering entering the water should check current local guidance, visible signage and recent water-quality information before swimming.
