** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Colentina River (Râul Colentina) flows through Bucharest and Ilfov as a chain of small lakes and channels whose surface water temperatures vary markedly with season and local conditions. Typical seasonal ranges at the surface are roughly spring 4–12 °C (39–54 °F), summer 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), autumn 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) and winter around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), though shallow, sun-exposed ponds can warm a few degrees higher on hot days while deeper or fast-flowing stretches stay cooler. Short-term spikes or drops follow heat waves, cold snaps and heavy rains; water near lake outflows or storm drains may be noticeably warmer or colder than open-water areas.
Swimming in the Colentina is generally not officially encouraged. Water quality is uneven because of urban runoff, sewage inputs, agricultural and occasional industrial pollutants, and periodic algal episodes, and many local regulations prohibit bathing in the managed lakes for health and safety reasons. There are also hazards such as submerged debris, variable currents and poor visibility. Some people swim informally in cleaner-looking spots during summer, but public authorities typically advise against it and recommend designated monitored swimming facilities if safe recreational contact with water is desired.
