** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bender (in Romanian: Bender) sits on the Dniester and adjacent reservoirs and small lakes whose surface temperatures vary seasonally. In winter (December–February) lake and reservoir waters commonly sit near freezing, about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and can develop ice. Spring (March–May) brings a steady rise, with typical surface temperatures roughly 4–14 °C (39–57 °F) as melting and runoff continue. Summer (June–August) is the warmest period, when sheltered lakes and the Dniester reservoir often reach about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), offering the most comfortable conditions for swimming. In autumn (September–November) temperatures fall again to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) as the water cools and daylight shortens.
Swimming is generally possible in the Bender area during the warmer months when surface temperatures are in the low twenties Celsius, but it is allowed only where local authorities designate safe bathing sites. Water quality, seasonal algal blooms, strong currents in parts of the Dniester, variable depth, and the absence of lifeguards can all restrict or discourage swimming; municipal testing and posted signage determine official permissions. Visitors and locals should follow posted rules, avoid swimming in unmarked or fast-flowing stretches, and consider cooler spring or autumn temperatures as less suitable for prolonged immersion.
