*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Chisinau (in Romanian - Chișinău) lies in a temperate continental zone where lakes and rivers show marked seasonal temperature variation. In spring, surface waters in small lakes and slow rivers typically warm from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) in March–April as ice breaks up. Summer brings the warmest conditions: shallow ponds and reservoirs such as Ghidighici can reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) in July–August, while flowing sections of the Bîc River are often a few degrees cooler. In autumn, water cools again to roughly 15–8 °C (59–46 °F) in September–November. Winter commonly brings ice cover and temperatures near freezing, with water around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) under ice or in unfrozen currents.
Swimming opportunities exist but are conditional. Designated recreational reservoirs and organized beaches permit bathing in summer when temperatures are warm enough and local authorities have cleared the site; these areas are favored because of shallower, warmer water and some safety provision. In contrast, many urban ponds and stretches of the Bîc are not recommended for swimming due to variable water quality, limited monitoring, and absence of lifeguards, and public advisories or bans may be issued after heavy rains or during pollution events. Always check local guidance before entering the water.
