Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Dniester Estuary, on whose western bank the ancient city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi is situated, is a large and shallow bay of the Black Sea fed by the Dniester River. Due to its significant area and shallow average depth (about 1.8 meters), the estuary water heats up very intensely during the warm season. In summer, particularly in July and August, the water temperature in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi area typically reaches +24 to +26∘C and even higher, making it ideal for swimming and extended water recreation.
Swimming opportunities within the city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi are concentrated on the estuary banks, which have historically been used for leisure. Although the estuary is important for fishing and navigation (it hosts a port), designated swimming areas are set up in the summer, often featuring a sandy-silty bottom. However, it is important to note that the ecological condition of the estuary, specifically water quality, can sometimes fluctuate, so checking current information from local sanitary services before swimming is crucial.
Despite potential ecological nuances, the Dniester Estuary remains the main aquatic artery of the city and an attractive place for leisure. Its warm water in the summer is a great alternative to the sea, and from the city's banks, particularly from the territory of the famous Akkerman Fortress, incredible panoramic views of this large body of water can be enjoyed.
