*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Comrat, the administrative center of the Gagauzia region in southern Moldova, lies near small rivers and artificial lakes rather than the sea. Water temperatures in these inland bodies vary strongly with the seasons. In spring (March–May) shallow lakes and slow-flowing rivers typically warm from about 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) as snowmelt and cool air still influence conditions. During summer (June–August) surface temperatures commonly reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) in sheltered ponds and reservoirs and may be a degree or two cooler in faster-flowing stretches. Autumn (September–November) sees a decline to roughly 8–17 °C (46–63 °F), while in winter (December–February) temperatures approach freezing, around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and parts of small lakes or slow rivers can ice over.
Swimming is generally possible in the warm months but is often informal rather than organized: there are few official monitored beaches or lifeguard services near Comrat, and water quality and underwater hazards can vary. Local people commonly swim in summer when surface temperatures exceed 20 °C (68 °F), but public authorities may advise caution because of limited sanitary monitoring, variable clarity and depth, and seasonal changes in flow. Visitors should check local guidance and exercise standard water-safety precautions.
