** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ceadîr-Lunga lies in the inland plain of southern Moldova, where natural and artificial lakes, ponds and slow-flowing tributaries warm and cool with the continental seasons. Typical surface temperatures for shallow lakes and reservoirs range from about 0°C to 4°C (32°F to 39°F) in winter when ice or near-freezing conditions are common, through spring warming around 4°C to 15°C (39°F to 59°F). In summer surface waters of small lakes and ponds often reach 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F), while larger or deeper bodies stay a few degrees cooler. Rivers and faster-flowing streams remain more temperature-stable: roughly 0°C to 3°C (32°F to 37°F) in winter, 4°C to 12°C (39°F to 54°F) in spring, and commonly 15°C to 22°C (59°F to 72°F) in summer, falling back toward 6°C to 12°C (43°F to 54°F) in autumn.
Swimming in local lakes and rivers is commonly practised informally during the warm months, but official allowances depend on local rules and water-quality monitoring. Many spots lack lifeguards and formal infrastructure, and stagnant or shallow waters are prone to algal blooms, bacterial contamination and runoff from agriculture, which can make swimming unsafe at times. Visitors and residents are advised to choose monitored beaches if available, avoid swimming after heavy rains or during visible blooms, and heed municipal advisories for health and safety.
