Čelinac lies on the banks of the Vrbanja River, a clean and relatively fast-flowing tributary of the Vrbas. The river has a distinctly continental temperature pattern: during winter months, the water cools to around 3–5 °C, while in summer it can reach 20–23 °C in calmer and shallower stretches near the town.
