*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The town of Brod (formerly Bosanski Brod) is situated in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the right bank of the Sava River, a major waterway that forms the border with Croatia. Given its location in the lowland region of the Sava basin, the river's water temperature is strongly influenced by continental weather patterns. In winter, the Sava is cold, typically ranging from 4∘C to 8∘C. However, the long, slow-moving stretches around Brod allow for significant heating during the summer, with the surface temperature often rising to between 22∘C and 25∘C in July and August.
Swimming in the Sava River near Brod is a long-standing tradition and a permitted summer recreational activity. The Sava in this area is known for having a high number of days per year when its mean daily temperature exceeds 20∘C, making it comfortable for bathing. Informal beaches and local swimming spots are prevalent along the banks during the warm season, especially on the calmer meanders. While swimming is allowed and widely practiced, the river’s strong currents and commercial navigation near the port areas require caution, and swimmers should stick to locally known, safe areas.
