Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Vrbas River flows through central and western Bosnia and Herzegovina, passing towns such as Gornji Vakuf, Jajce, and Banja Luka before joining the Sava River. Originating in the mountains, it has a mixed alpine and continental character, which affects its water temperature. In winter, the Vrbas cools to around 2–5°C, while in spring it warms to 10–14°C. During the summer, especially in the lower parts near Banja Luka, the water temperature rises to between 20 and 24°C, making it comfortable for swimming. In autumn, the temperature drops again to 10–15°C as the air cools.
Swimming in the Vrbas River is popular in summer, particularly around Banja Luka, where there are accessible riverbanks and calmer sections. The water is clean and clear, although the upper course remains quite cold and fast, suitable more for rafting and kayaking than swimming. Officially, swimming is allowed in designated recreational zones, and locals often enjoy it as part of summer leisure. The Vrbas combines refreshing water with scenic surroundings, making it one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most attractive rivers for both sports and relaxation.
