*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Nevėžis is a central Lithuanian river whose water temperature follows the temperate continental climate of the region. In spring surface temperatures typically rise from about 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) as ice melts and runoff cools the river. Summer brings the warmest conditions, with common surface readings around 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) and occasional warm spells lifting parts of the river to 24–25 °C (75–77 °F). In autumn the water cools again, often ranging from 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) early in the season down to 4–8 °C (39–46 °F). Winter temperatures usually approach freezing; where ice forms the liquid water beneath or next to the ice is close to 0–2 °C (32–36 °F).
Swimming in the Nevėžis is possible and is practised locally in summer, especially at calm stretches and near recreational spots, because the summer temperatures are comfortable for bathing. However, formal monitored bathing sites are limited and conditions vary along the river. Local authorities may restrict swimming near urban discharges, infrastructure or strong currents, and many stretches lack lifeguards, so water quality, underwater hazards and variable currents should be checked before entering. For safe swimming choose established recreational areas, heed local signs and seasonal advisories.
