*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Dubysa River in Lithuania experiences marked seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter the river is typically close to freezing, around 0–2 °C (32–36 °F) and often ice‑covered in sustained cold spells. During spring thaw temperatures rise from roughly 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as snowmelt and runoff cool the flow. In summer most stretches warm to a more comfortable range of about 14–20 °C (57–68 °F), with shallow, slow sections occasionally reaching around 22 °C (72 °F) on hot days. Come autumn the water cools again to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F). Local factors such as depth, shading from riparian trees, and current speed create considerable micro‑variability along the river.
Swimming in the Dubysa is possible, especially in summer when temperatures are pleasant, but it is not uniformly advisable everywhere. Many locations have no lifeguards, submerged hazards, variable currents, and water‑quality fluctuations after heavy rains, so swimmers should choose established bathing spots or riverbanks known to locals. Parts of the river lie within protected areas and recreational rules or seasonal restrictions may apply to protect habitats, so checking local guidance and exercising caution is sensible before entering the water.
